Inspecity Raises ₹100 Cr for Space Missions
Inspecity, a Thane-based startup founded in 2022, has raised ₹100 Cr in pre-Series A funding to deploy four in-orbit missions and advance its in-space servicing technologies.

Inspecity has raised ₹100 Cr in its pre-Series A funding round, co-led by veteran investor Ashish Kacholia and Speciale Invest, with participation from Antler India, Shastra VC, and other existing backers and angel investors.
The Thane-based startup plans to deploy the capital to fund four in-orbit missions over the next 12-18 months, expand its team, and push its in-space servicing technologies toward commercial deployment.
Founded in 2022 by Arindrajit Chowdhury and Tausif Shaikh, Inspecity is building in-orbit satellite servicing and deorbiting solutions, with a product stack that includes GITA for spacecraft propulsion, CHAKSU for sensing and proximity operations, RAMA for robotic manipulation, and SPARSH for cooperative docking and in-orbit propellant transfer.
The funding round comes as India’s space economy sees rapid growth, driven by policy reforms, cost arbitrage, rising patient capital, and high-quality engineering talent, with investor interest rising accordingly.
Inspecity has completed functional and environmental testing of its propulsion system and received clearances from ISRO labs, enabling integration with satellites for flight.
The four missions will demonstrate capabilities in rendezvous and proximity operations (RPO), propulsion, and robotics, with some involving a single satellite and others requiring deployment of both a target and a chaser satellite.
The startup previously raised $5.6 Mn in its seed round last year, also led by Kacholia, and aims to focus on government-backed R&D projects, upcoming space missions, and productionisation of its propulsion systems.
