The Global Fintech Festival 2026 began yesterday with a series of product launches from major Indian fintech players. Companies like BharatPe, Jio Payments Solutions, and Pine Labs announced new services focused on artificial intelligence, cross-border transactions, and agentic commerce.

BharatPe Launches Merchant AI Platform

BharatPe announced an agentic AI platform built for merchants. The tool, developed on Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, integrates an AI assistant directly into the BharatPe business app. According to the company, it can understand a merchant's business, products, and interaction history. It allows communication in the user's preferred language and can take action across more than 60 live systems in real time.

Separately, BharatPe also unveiled a feature called Credit Coach. This tool uses AI to increase credit awareness among users. It generates personalised videos featuring a digital avatar of former Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma.

Jio Payments and Pine Labs Expand Services

Jio Financial Services' subsidiary, Jio Payments Solutions, has partnered with US-based Citi to launch a cross-border payments service. The service is designed to enable domestic businesses to accept international payments from customers worldwide. In a LinkedIn post, JFS stated the offering aims to make international payments more seamless, efficient, and cost-effective. It has ambitions to reduce turnaround time and offer greater convenience.

Listed fintech major Pine Labs has partnered with L&T Finance to introduce an agentic commerce feature on the latter's PLANET app. This feature allows AI agents to carry out transactions on behalf of users within predefined controls. The integration uses the Pine Labs Payments Protocol (P3P) and the Grantex protocol to enable communication between AI agents and help controlled transaction execution. Initially, the offering will focus on flight ticket bookings. Under this setup, an AI agent can act on a user's stated intent and complete the booking process within the app, subject to user-defined parameters or "guardrails".

New Credit and Lending Products Debut

Amazon Pay has joined hands with Kotak Mahindra Bank to launch co-branded credit cards for small business owners. These cards will be limited to merchants on Amazon Business, the company's dedicated B2B ecommerce marketplace. Amazon said the credit card will combine cashback on business expenses with an interest-free credit period, giving small businesses flexibility. The card will also provide offers on AWS credits, covering services such as cloud computing, data storage, and AI.

Fintech giant Yubi has launched a new lending platform for retail borrowers called Pye. The service is designed to connect retail borrowers with lending institutions through a single integration. It aims to cater to everyday credit needs like weddings, home and education expenses, and medical emergencies. Rather than routing an application to a single lender, the platform connects it with a network of lending partners to match the borrower with the best-suited creditor. Yubi also unveiled a consumer credit-health app named TopScore. This app allows users to access their credit score and view the information in simplified language across 10 languages.

The first day of the festival highlighted a move beyond basic payments, with launches focusing on AI, credit, and embedded financial services.
