Omnichannel femtech startup Nua has raised $50 million, approximately 472 crore rupees, in a Series C funding round. The investment was led by Peak XV Partners and Filter Capital, with participation from existing backers Mirabilis Investment Trust and Footpath Ventures.

This round included a mix of primary capital and secondary transactions. The secondary portion provided partial exits for early investors Kae Capital and Lightbox VC, as well as some angel investors.

Funding and Growth Trajectory

According to the company, this latest fundraise follows a pre-Series C round of 35 crore rupees led by Mirabilis Investment Trust in February 2025. With the new capital, Nua's total funding has now surpassed $65 million. Inc42, the source of this report, notes that the final round size was larger than earlier indications of a $20-25 million raise, due to the inclusion of secondary transactions.

CEO and co-founder Ravi Ramachandran stated the company's annualised revenue run rate has scaled fivefold to 500 crore rupees from 100 crore rupees over the past two years. He claims this growth was achieved while the company remained profitable.

Capital Allocation and Product Strategy

Nua plans to deploy the fresh capital across several key areas. The funds are earmarked for brand building, expanding the company's reach and distribution network, and strengthening research and development capabilities. A core goal is to build a wider pipeline of women's wellness products.

Founded in 2017 by Ravi Ramachandran and Abhishek Ramanathan, Nua's portfolio spans period care, maternity care, skincare, and intimate care. Its products include sanitary pads, cramp relief items, intimate washes, and period nutrition mixes.

The Mumbai-based startup operates an omnichannel model. It sells directly through its own website and via major e-commerce and quick-commerce platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, and Zepto. Nua has also expanded into digital services with its Nua Period Tracker app and the SecretKeeper chat platform. The company claims to serve more than three million women and girls every month.

Competitive Landscape and Market Context

The funding arrives during a period of heightened investor interest in India's femtech and women's wellness sector. This interest is reportedly driven by rising incomes and greater consumer awareness. Nua's competitors include companies like Plush, Azah, Pee Safe, and Carmesi.

Recent activity in the sector includes Pee Safe raising $32 million from OrbiMed earlier this year to expand its offline retail and scale across quick-commerce platforms. In May, another player, Healthfab, raised 20 crore rupees in a Series A round to expand its menstrual wellness portfolio.

A market projection from the IMARC Group estimates India's femtech market will grow at a compound annual growth rate of 15.7% between 2026 and 2034, potentially reaching $5.5 billion by the end of that period.
