Seeds Fincap has secured more than ₹100 crore ($10.4 million) in a Series B funding round. The Gurugram-based non-banking financial company (NBFC) saw the round led by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, with participation from existing investors Z47 and Lok Capital.

Use of fresh capital

The new capital will fuel an expansion of the company's branch network into new markets. It will also be directed toward strengthening proprietary technology and enhancing risk-management systems. This investment is intended to support the next phase of the lender's growth.

Business model and market traction

Seeds Fincap provides credit to underserved individual borrowers and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), with a particular focus on nano enterprises. The company uses a proprietary, cash-flow-based underwriting approach, supported by a combination of technology and field teams for operations like sourcing and collections.

As of August 2026, the company reported assets under management (AUM) of ₹722 crore and served more than 70,000 active members. It is targeting ₹1,000 crore in AUM by March 2027. The company offers loans within the following range:

Company background and financial performance

Founded in 2021 by Subhash Chandra Acharya, Avishek Sarkar, and Sumeet Dhall, Seeds Fincap claims to have closed both the FY25 and FY26 financial years profitably. The company disbursed approximately ₹620 crore during FY26. Managing Director and CEO Subhash Chandra Acharya stated, "This capital will enable us to deepen our presence, strengthen our technology and people, and expand our ability to serve more entrepreneurs and underserved communities."

The Series B round follows previous raises, including a ₹50 crore round last year led by Z47 and Lok Capital, and a July 2024 Series A round of over $8.5 million led by Lok Capital and Matrix Partners India, which later rebranded as Z47. Norinchukin Capital also participated in a pre-Series B round in August 2025. Unitus Capital acted as the financial adviser for this latest transaction.

Seeds Fincap, which operates 164 branches, maintains a continued focus on underwriting discipline and portfolio quality. The company plans to use the Series B capital to expand into additional markets and scale its branch network as part of its next phase of growth.
