Félix, a Miami-based remittance platform operating via WhatsApp, announced on Tuesday that it has secured $200 million in a Series C funding round. The financing was co-led by venture capital firms Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and General Catalyst.

Andreessen Horowitz led an $87 million equity investment. Several existing investors participated, including QED Investors, Castle Island Ventures, Switch Ventures, Contour Venture Partners, and Endeavor Catalyst. Separately, General Catalyst's Customer Value Fund committed $113 million in debt to fund the company's growth.

Founded in 2020 by Manuel Godoy and Bernardo García, Félix has now raised nearly $300 million in total. The company did not disclose its current valuation but stated it had increased threefold since its last round. Its previous Series B, a $75 million raise led by QED Investors, valued the company at $484.5 million. This latest increase implies a valuation comfortably over $1 billion, granting Félix unicorn status.

Platform Performance and Reach

The AI-powered service targets Latino immigrants in the United States, allowing them to send money to families abroad via the popular messaging app. Félix connects users with recipients across 11 Latin American markets, including Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica, Honduras, and Peru.

The company reports significant growth. It has processed more than $8 billion in transactions to date. Revenue grew more than 2.5 times in the past year.

Founder and Investor Perspectives

Co-founder Manuel Godoy framed the company's mission around personal experience, stating he experienced the problem personally when he came to the U.S., where even getting a small loan was harder than it should have been. He contrasted Félix's approach with traditional finance, explaining that traditional financial institutions often start with the product they want you to use, while Félix wants to start with the person.

Investor Ali Yahya, a general partner at a16z crypto, expressed strong belief in the model. He said Félix represents what the future of financial services can look like for millions of Latinos in the United States. Yahya added that the startup has combined advanced technologies into a simple product, packaging two frontier technologies, AI and blockchain networks, into something simple and consumer-friendly: a better way to send and receive money.

Funding Context and Use of Capital

The new capital will be used to expand Félix's product offerings and enter new markets across Latin America. The funding arrives amid a fluctuating fintech investment landscape. According to Crunchbase data cited in the source report, fintech startups raised $28.6 billion globally in the first half of 2026. This figure represents a 22.7% increase from the first half of 2025 but is down 17.3% from the $34.6 billion raised in the second half of last year.
