Indian startups raised $210.3 million across 23 deals between August 24 and 28. This represents a 9.8% decline from the $233.2 million raised by 19 startups in the previous week, according to a report by Inc42.

Ecommerce and advanced hardware and technology led this week's funding activity. Together, the two sectors raised $108.4 million, accounting for 51.6% of the total funding. Ecommerce saw four deals worth $58.5 million, while advanced hardware and technology recorded three deals totaling $49.9 million.

Major Funding Rounds

The largest deal of the week was Third Wave Coffee's $43 million round. WestBridge Capital and Creagis led the investment in the direct-to-consumer coffee brand. This single round made up 73.5% of the ecommerce sector's total and 20% of the overall weekly funding.

Airbound, an aerial vehicles company, secured a $37 million Series A round. Greenoaks led the investment, with participation from DoorDash, Lachy Groom's Physical Intelligence, Lightspeed, and Humba Ventures. Electric vehicle startup MATTER raised $25 million from investors including Helena, Capital 2B, and the Japan Airlines and Translink Innovation Fund.

Sector Breakdown and Active Investors

Beyond the leading sectors, AI and cleantech also recorded four deals each. Consumer services and fintech saw three and two deals, respectively. Early-stage activity remained healthy, with three seed and pre-seed startups raising a combined $3.45 million.

Capital 2B and Equanimity Investments were the most active investors this week. Each firm participated in two deals. Other notable investments included Runable's $21 million AI round and Nexedge Capital's $20 million fintech raise.

Mergers, Funds, and IPO Updates

The report also noted three startup mergers and acquisitions. Infineon Technologies is acquiring Peak XV-backed C2i Semiconductors. Healthtech startup Healthify has merged with US-based Berry Street. Additionally, Deepinder Goyal's wearable startup Temple acquired London-based Longevous.

Several new funds were announced. Micromax Informatics launched a ₹250 crore family office for deeptech investments. The/Nudge Foundation's TILT platform launched a ₹250 crore fund for early-stage startups. Industrial47 marked the first close of its ₹200 crore debut fund at ₹85 crore.

In IPO developments, ESDS Software Solution's offering was 2.1 times subscribed on its first day. Purple Style Labs, parent of Pernia's Pop Up Shop, raised nearly ₹306 crore from anchor investors ahead of its IPO bidding commencement on August 31.
